Craig Lassen
Craig brings more than 37 years of experience in veterinary medicine to his role at Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center (SOVSC). His career has spanned both client service and technical roles, with hands-on experience in emergency and critical care, surgery, and general practice. This broad background has given him a deep understanding of the people, systems, and teamwork required to support exceptional veterinary care.
Craig earned his degree in Business Finance and Operations from San Diego State University in 2006. His leadership experience includes managing small animal practices and emergency hospitals, overseeing multisite operations, and serving in regional management roles for several large national veterinary organizations. Throughout his career, his focus has been on developing strong internal operations, building effective teams, and creating workplace cultures where people can thrive.
Preparedness and emergency communications are also an important part of Craig’s work. As a licensed amateur radio operator and member of the Josephine County Emergency Communications team, he supports regional emergency communications preparedness. At SOVSC, he maintains emergency communications readiness as part of the broader Oregon healthcare coalition network, helping ensure SOVSC and other regional medical facilities have a means to remain connected when conventional communications are disrupted during large-scale or statewide emergencies.
Craig’s leadership philosophy is rooted in a simple belief: when veterinary teams are well supported, engaged, and equipped to succeed, they create stronger environments for patient care, client service, and the communities they serve.
