Our mission has remained unchanged since we first opened our doors: to work as a dedicated team with families and referring veterinarians to deliver the highest level of medicine in a compassionate environment. We treat every patient with the same vigilance and heart as if they were our own, ensuring the highest standards of safety, comfort, and clinical excellence.
Our History: A Legacy of Advanced Care Close to Home
In November 2004, SOVSC was established to fill a critical void in our community. At the time, families in Southern Oregon and Northern California had to travel approximately 250 miles to find a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. We set out to change that, centering our mission on partnership, compassion, and providing advanced care right here in the Rogue Valley.
From our original location in Medford, we became the region’s only 24-hour emergency resource and a trusted partner for local veterinarians. Our growth has always been driven by the needs of the pets we serve:
2017: Evolution into a Regional Referral Center - We moved to our modern facility at 4901 Biddle Road in Central Point, significantly expanding our capabilities to serve as a comprehensive regional hub.
2023: Expanded Access with Urgent Care - To better serve our community and reduce wait times for non-critical needs, we opened a new 6,000-square-foot veterinary Urgent Care facility adjacent to our main hospital.

Advanced CT Imaging: Providing detailed, cross-sectional views for rapid and precise diagnoses.
State-of-the-Art Operating Suites: Equipped for complex soft-tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
Dedicated Contagious Ward: A specialized isolation area to provide intensive care while safeguarding the health of other hospitalized pets.
